More rallying cry than fixed intention, ‘the Republic of Canterbury’ summarises a needed local political vision: towards ‘the Republic of Aotearoa New Zealand’, ‘the Republic of Australasia and Oceania’, and real democratic governance, by the people and for the people, around the world. In the current climate and social juncture, ‘the Republic of Canterbury’ milestone crystallises what needs to be done, so we can get on with the inclusive job, for peace and sustainable prosperity.
